Melanie & Dan

Melanie & Dan had their engagement portraits taken this week. They definitely braced themselves for some fierce fall winds as we searched for autumn foliage at the sculpture park while getting their pictures taken. I think it might be a while now before these fingers warm up.

Emmy Nomination

A dear friend of mine, Drew, during his first year of being out in the real world working, was nominated for an Emmy. Many congratulations to him for his hard work and skills to be recognized so early. It was my honor to photograph him and his girlfriend JB in all their glamor before they attended the event.

Double the trouble, twice the fun

Michael, Heidi, and their twins Drew and Emme joined me at the sculpture park for a morning of fun! The kids are great at racing. I lost at least 3 times.

Matt

About 4 years ago in our home town of Kansas City, Matt booked his senior portraits with me. He was in 8th grade. Well, he finally made it to his senior year and kept that appointment. And, though I do not recall, he reports that he requested the pictures be taken in a cemetery, and well, as you can see we didn't quite go for the morbid look, though it is October. We did make it down to the Landing, with a pit stop on the Hill after lunch.

Dancers, Set I

A few weeks ago, I sat in on a few dance classes at Webster University. Here is a sampling of my work from that day. As some of the outstanding model releases are returned I will be able to show more, which is very exciting, as I am very pleased with this whole project!

Thanks to the dance instructors for allowing me to invade their class for an afternoon, to the dancers for being full of grace, beauty, and skill, and specifically to Janele for inviting me in the first place.

Chris and Jackie

This past weekend, my brother-in-law, Chris, celebrated his marriage to my new sister-in-law Jackie in Orlando, Florida near where they live. Their two boys, Ben and Hunter were such little gentleman in their little tuxes. These are just a few of my favorites that I snapped during the day.

Before the ceremony, I wiggled my way into getting to the beach. Here a couple of images from there.

Military Honors

This past weekend was the 35th Infantry Division Association Reunion. I'm terrible with military lingo, so forgive me if that is incorrect. I did a small shoot for a private family with an incredible story. Mr. Werner was awarded a high honor from the French government after having been captured by Germans during WWII, escaped, and then returned to the 35th.
